Event #33 Gets Underway: RakeTheRake Players Hungry for WSOP Victory
By RTR Dennis
The World Series of Poker 2014 has reached the halfway point of its 65 scheduled events, and today at midday Event #33 began with a team of RakeTheRake players ready to go up against a packed field players including pros like Greg Raymer for a huge cash prize.
Last year's winner Chris Dombrowski cashed in this year's event#26, and following that success he's rumoured to have entered this year's #33 $1,000 NLHE. Dombrowski beat a field of 2,108 players last year to walk away with $346,332.
Over the next three days, our RTR players - Kevin Pender, Leo Nash, Matthew Brenn, Mike Donofrio, Guillaume Daigle, Stergios Niniatsoudis, Daniel Royle, Adam Balint, David Deeves, and Niclas Eriksson - will battle it out on the felt. So far this year, the pro players have dominated the WSOP, showing that although luck is still a factor in tournament poker, it's experience and skill that go further to making a champion. For many of our players, this is their first World Series, but they all have plently of online experience and many have played live cash games and tourneys before so there's definitely reason to be optimistic.
We'll be keeping you up to date with the progress of our players, plus the rest of the Event #33 action over the next few days - so stay glued to the RakeTheRake blog, RakeTheRake facebook, and our twitter page @raketherake.
