Americas Cardroom makes Huge Changes to Software
By RTR Dennis
Thanks to their frequent promotions, clever marketing and US-friendly status, Americas Cardroom has remained a force in the online poker world. But regardless of success, every poker site could use a little improvement. And Americas Cardroom definitely believes this thought since they recently overhauled their software.
The lobby and poker tables saw some major changes during this overhaul. The lobby now features cash game filters and remodeled tabs and buttons. As for the tables, these feature a brand new design, layout and colors.
Other big changes include improvements to the multi-tabling experience. Now players have the ability to sit out at one or all of the tables, and they can expect cleaner visuals while multi-tabling. Those who’ve played at ACR in the past may feel like they’re at a completely different poker room!
Michael Harris, who’s the ACR spokesman, is very happy with the changes that have been made. “A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into this client,” he said. “We’ve tried to incorporate what we felt were the best elements from existing poker sites and then some winning gold. We’re quite pleased with the end result.”
Any new players who try this revamped software will notice that ACR does an excellent job of running lots of cash-filled promotions. In fact, you can take a look at some of these promos below:
LSOP Prize Packages
Head down south to play in the Latin Series of Poker! ACR commonly gives out prizes packages for the different LSOP tournaments, and you can win these through cheap satellites and qualifiers. This site is currently offering $1,500 LSOP Chile packages for a big tourney that’ll be played in Puerto Varas, Chile.
The Beast
The first of its kind, “The Beast” is a progressive rake race where the number of prizes increase exponentially. So if the monthly Beast prize pool was $50,000, ACR would pay the top 200 points earners. Assuming the monthly prize pool hit $90,000, this poker room would pay the top 360 players.
Big Guaranteed Tournaments
Every week you can expect a number of large guaranteed tournaments running at ACR. The biggest weekly tourney is the $50k Guaranteed, which charges a $200+$15 buy-in and starts players off with 10,000 chips. ACR also sporadically runs a $100k Guaranteed, where you also pay a $200+$15 buy-in and begin with 10,000 chips. Remember that you can win seats for both of these tournaments by playing in ongoing satellites.
