2021 WSOP Schedule Available – 88 Live Bracelet Events on Tap
By RTR Dennis
Last year’s World Series of Poker was disrupted by COVID and ran exclusively online. This year’s version, however, will feature a mixture of online and live tournaments.
The 2021 WSOP schedule has been released. It reveals that 88 live bracelet events will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
Live WSOP Tournaments Will Run in the Fall
The 2021 WSOP is happening online right now. Of course, many eyes are focused on the live tourneys that’ll take place in the fall.
WSOP directors made the decision to postpone live events until the fall. They plan on running online tourneys throughout the summer.
The officials wanted to make sure that COVID-19 restrictions were cleared before holding events at the Rio. They also felt that the fall weather would be more pleasant to visitors than the scorching Vegas summer.
What’s on the 2021 WSOP Schedule?
The WSOP will pick up where it left off in 2019 by providing a wide mixture of live tournaments. Various formats, poker variations, and buy-ins will be represented.
The live series starts on September 30 with the $500 Casino Employees NL Hold’em—a long-time opener. The same day will also offer a $1,000 COVID-19 Relief NL Hold’em Charity event and $25,000 HORSE tournament.
October 1 will bring more exciting tourneys, with a $500 The Reunion NL Hold’em event. The Reunion will boast a $5 million prize pool, thus guaranteeing that it will be a favorite among low rollers.

High Rollers & Low Rollers Well Represented
This year’s run has plenty for both low and high rollers. The latter can take joy in competing in the $10,000 High Roller NL Hold’em and/or $250,000 Super High Roller tournaments. High-stakes players can also enjoy a $50k Pot-Limit Omaha event. All three of these high-roller tourneys take place in late November.
The schedule boasts many cheap events for those wanting to experience WSOP glory on a budget. The aforementioned $500 The Reunion will no doubt be popular. It’ll provide players of all bankrolls a chance to compete for a $5m prize pool.
An $800 NL Hold’em Deepstack event and $888 Crazy 8’s NL Hold’em tourney should also prove to be hits. Plenty of $1,000 and $1,500 buy-in events are on the schedule too.
What About the 2021 WSOP Main Event?
The 2021 Main Event will take place from Nov. 4-17. No guarantee on the top prize has been announced. The 2019 edition paid $10 million to the eventual winner, Germany’s Hossein Ensan. The 2020 version, which happened online, saw Argentina’s Damian Salas win a $2,550,969 top payout.
CBS Sports Network (not CBS Sports) will broadcast the 2021 WSOP Main Event. This is the first time in ME history that ESPN won’t televise the tournament.
