PokerStars 2018 SCOOP Schedule – Record $65 Million Guaranteed

PokerStars have been running their Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) for 10 years. And this year’s edition figures to be the biggest SCOOP yet.

PokerStars are guaranteeing $65 million in guaranteed tournaments for the 2018 SCOOP. And players can look forward to at least one tournament every day that will feature a $1 million prize pool.

The 2018 SCOOP will run from May 6-21 and feature Low, Medium, and High buy-in levels. Players will be able to buy into tournaments for as low as $2.20 and as much as $25,000.

Overall, the SCOOP will offer 61 events, or 183 tournaments when considering the three buy-in levels. If this is anything like last year's event, we can expect the 2018 SCOOP to breaks records. After all, the 2017 version featured $93 million in prize money, which is well above the $55 million guarantee for the 57 events.

Severin Rasset, Director of Poker Innovation and Operations at PokerStars, is excited to offer another edition of this huge spring championship series.

Highlights of 2018 PokerStars SCOOP

Low-stakes players will enjoy the Phase tournaments running throughout the SCOOP. A Phase tourney sees the event’s levels spread out over a period of time, letting people compete at their own convenience. These tournaments will cost as little as $2.20 and give you the chance to play for huge prize pools.

For example, May 20 will feature a $150k guarantee ($2.20 buy-in), $1 million guarantee ($22 buy-in), and $1.5 million guarantee ($215 buy-in).

This year's SCOOP will also have plenty of High Roller tournaments, which begin on May 9. This includes two $1 million guaranteed events ($215 low buy-in & $2,100 medium buy-in) along with a $2.5 million tourney ($25,000 buy-in).

The final day of the series takes place on Sunday, May 20. This features the Low, Medium, and High Main Events, including prize pools of $1.5 million ($109 buy-in), $4 million ($1,050 buy-in), and $5 million ($10,300 buy-in), respectively.

Also note that the SCOOP will offer five $30,000 Platinum Passes for the 2019 Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship (PSPC). These will be given to the player who finishes on top of the SCOOP leaderboard; the winner of the All-In Shootout Challenge; and the winners of the Low, Medium, and High Main Events.

2018 SCOOP Qualifiers

PokerStars will be running plenty of qualifiers leading up to the 2018 SCOOP. The most notable is a hyper-turbo freeroll on May 5 at 6pm GMT. This freeroll will offer $50,000 worth of SCOOP tournament tickets, and entry is open to anybody who's played in past SCOOP events.

Spin & Go qualifiers ranging from $7.50 to $35 buy-ins will also be awarding SCOOP tickets, including seats worth up to $25,000 for the High Main Event. PokerStars will even feature a Spin & Go challenge, where prizes are tickets into two $25,000 SCOOP Freerolls that will run on April 29 and May 25 at 3:30pm GMT.

Players need to collect at least 25 points in the Spin & Go challenge from April 23-29 and April 29-May 5 to earn a seat in a SCOOP Freeroll.
