2016 Super High Roller Bowl will feature $5m Top Prize

The Poker Central network has announced that they'll again cover the Super High Roller Bowl in 2016. And headlining the event will be a $5 million top prize along with an expected $15 million prize pool. 2016 Super High Roller Bowl Dates and Coverage

The prominent tournament will once again be held at Las Vegas' ARIA Resort & Casino from May 29 to June 1. Poker Central, which covers poker 24/7, will air the event while POKER PROductions will produce it.

Mori Eskandani, president of POKER PROductions, believes that the prize money involved means the Super High Roller Bowl "is bound to be one of the most talked-about events of 2016," and he is "excited to return to produce this live event."

Entry Requirements and Players

The 2016 Super High Roller Bowl is open to any player who can front the $300,000 buy-in. Players can reserve their seat by paying a $30,000 deposit and covering the rest of the amount before May 29. Some of the early names being thrown out as participants include Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Brian Rast.

Rast was actually the champion last year, and he earned a $7,525,000 top prize along with a championship ring. Scott Seiver also fared very well in the 2015 Super High Roller Bowl, finishing runner-up and collecting $5,160,000.

Tournament Structure

The field will be capped at 49 players and tables will be seven-handed. Since this is a sponsored tournament put on by Poker Central, no rake will be taken and 100% of the entry fees will go towards the prize pool. An additional $300,000 will be added to the prize pool by sponsors. Assuming there's a full 49-player field, the top seven players will all cash in this tourney, with the first player to bust out collecting $600,000.

Each player will begin the event with 300,000 chips or 250 big blinds. Antes will be taken in the first level and continue throughout the High Roller Bowl.

Dress Code

The dress code in this event will be a little stricter than the average poker tournament. Players are asked to dress classy and not wear hoodies or sunglasses during the event.

Poker Central explains that the Super High Roller Bowl is "a worldwide television event with major corporate sponsors." The network wants to "put the highest quality product on the screen," which is why they want players wearing business casual attire.

While the dress code may sound strict, the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl is still expected to be a blast. There'll be some prominent poker players in attendance and lots of prize money up for grabs.
