“Last Woman Standing” Jackie Glazier signs with 888poker

Jackie Glazier recently graced international poker headlines by attaining the “Last Woman Standing” billing in the 2013 WSOP Main Event. Glazier represented the ladies well after finishing 31st out of 6,358 players and earning a $229,281 payday.

The Australian’s magical tournament run definitely impressed 888poker since they signed her to a sponsorship deal. And the 35-year-old was elated after signing with one of the biggest poker rooms in the world. “I really felt they were the right brand for me, especially with my live tournament schedule,” said Glazier. “Now that I’m with 888poker, I’m definitely going to be playing in the World Series of Poker Europe – I’m so excited!”

Now she’ll join several other standout players on the 888poker roster, including Sam Holden, Tyler Bonkowski, Bojan Gledovich, Jolmer Meelis, Steve Day and Patrick De Koster.

What’s interesting about Glazier signing with 888 is that she had to leave IveyPoker to complete the deal. IveyPoker provide free poker games and training services for players. But it’s rumored that IveyPoker pros are only receiving a cut of future profits, whereas 888 can guarantee Glazier a lucrative deal right away.

As for her career, Glazier has managed to rack up several impressive finishes in just five years of playing tournaments. She quietly entered the poker scene in 2008 after earning some small cashes on the Australian tourney circuit. By 2011, Glazier had collected her first large score by winning a Las Vegas Deep Stack Extravaganza III side event ($72,257).

From here she went on to notch more quality cashes back in Australia. But her first truly big break would come in a 2012 WSOP $3,000 Limit Hold’em tourney. Glazier battled through 1,394 players and nearly won a gold bracelet, finishing runner-up to Greg Ostrander. This deep run not only earned Glazier a $458,996 fortune, but also lots of respect within the poker community.

Now she’s furthered her reputation as one of the best female poker players in the world after the 31st place 2013 Main Event finish. The 888poker pro has $1,188,451 in live tourney earnings, which places her 17th on Australia’s all-time list and 21st on the women’s all-time list.
