PKR 2013 WSOP Odds – Phil Hellmuth Nearly Even Money

Prop betting has become a way of life at the World Series of Poker. And you can get your 2013 WSOP prop bets in at PKR Sports Betting since they’re offering a number of interesting lines.

The most intriguing line involves Phil Hellmuth being given 2.1 decimal odds of winning a gold bracelet. That means bettors would stand to earn $1.10 in profit ($2.10 total) for every $1 wagered. This is a near even money bet, which is a pretty rare line for somebody winning a bracelet in a single year – regardless of if they hold the all-time record with 13 gold bracelets.

But PKR Head of PR Dan Grant strongly believes that this line is necessary. Last year, the site got burned when Hellmuth won two bracelets at 1.80 decimal odds. Grant explained this with the following statement:

Last year we took plenty of stick for pricing Hellmuth at 4/5 to win a bracelet. But we'd done our homework, and were happy with the price. But many of our punters were too, and when Phil did the business we got stung!...we're back for more this year and I think Phil must have just as good a shot at collecting gold again, so we're courting disaster by offering bigger than evens.
PKR have just as much faith in Phil Ivey, who’s also being given 2.1 decimal odds of capturing a bracelet in 2013. Ivey has nine career gold bracelets and is a dangerous threat to win every time he takes the felt.

Daniel Negreanu is another prominent player who’s been given odds on winning a bracelet. He carries 2.75 odds of winning a tournament, which makes him an underdog to Hellmuth and Ivey. However, it’s worth mentioning that Negreanu is fresh off of winning the 2013 WSOP APAC Main Event and his fifth career gold bracelet.
