Anybody can play their way onto PKR TV
By RTR Dennis
The majority of amateur poker players will never have an opportunity to play on television. Most TV face time goes to established and well-recognized pros like Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, Phil Hellmuth and Vanessa Selbst. However, this isn’t to say that amateurs have no chance of appearing on poker TV – especially if they play at PKR.
After all, PKR broadcasts the best moments from their biggest tournaments through the PKR TV YouTube channel. And what’s great is that the action is presented by a very entertaining four-person team that includes host Dan Grant, poker babe Rachael Downie, Vladimir ‘Beyne’ Geshkenbein and Scott ‘PKR_Scott’ Shelley. Geshkenbein actually has $1.14 million in live tournament winnings while Shelley has collected over $295k in tourneys.
How to get on PKR TV
If you’re wondering how you can be seen playing poker by lots of viewers, you need to compete in select PKR tournaments each month. Now the televised tournaments change every month, but the $20k Mini Masters tourney is a good example. This event sees players compete for a $20,000 prize pool, and the buy-in is just $6. There are several other televised tournaments so make sure to check the TV schedule. Assuming you make some outstanding plays or are one of the top players in a big event, you could be showing up on PKR TV!
PKR Rakeback and Bonus
Anybody who thinks the prospect of competing in televised tournaments sounds neat should sign up at this site through RakeTheRake. Doing so will get you up to a $500 signup bonus and 30% rakeback. The rakeback is especially nice in this deal because you’ll be earning money back on the rake you pay. So in the case of a $10 + $1 tournament, you’d receive $0.30 back under the PKR rakeback deal.
